Most of the time, yes! Tours operate rain or shine. During some unusually large rain events, water may get too high to rappel, but days like this are exceptionally rare. Our guides have extensive experience in the field and will communicate any water-level issues ahead of time if any present themselves
For Kulaniapia Falls, the first section involves a jungle rappel. If you tend to get eaten up by bugs, we suggest quick drying athletic attire with more coverage than your normal beach outfit. (something like a light long sleeve top and bottom) Most of the time the bugs aren't a factor, but always great to come prepared!
For Umauma, there is a large amount of time in the water, so we suggest wearing something that fits well under a wetsuit that is fine getting wet (if you tend to run cold) or a wetsuit of your own. Water temperatures average just under 70 degrees, so many groups decide against the wetsuit.
Shoes and all mandatory gear are provided for all tours!
Our ropes are rated to hold thousands of pounds, so the biggest limiting factor is always going to be fitting in a harness. If you can fit in a harness, we are happy to take you regardless of weight. That being said, an average 250lb person tends to fit in the harnesses, but that tends to be the limit for a normal build at that weight. Exceptionally tall and/or muscular individuals over this weight tend to not have any issues fitting in the harness.
